Her previous job was an Investigator Special in the New York Division in which she specialized in counterintelligence investigation. The work she did consisted of evaluating threats to security, conducting classified investigations on suspected foreign agents, and carrying out covert work. Asha learned electronic surveillance techniques in addition to interviewing interrogations, interrogation techniques and the use of firearms. Asha completed her cumlaude at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs and was also awarded a Fulbright grant to research constitutional reform in Bogota Colombia. Her law degree was obtained from Yale Law School, where she was a Coker Fellow and a law clerk for Judge Juan R. Torruella of the U.S. Court of Appeals First Circuit located in San Juan Puerto Rico. The admissions she received to the State Bar of New York in 2003 and Connecticut as well as Connecticut, respectively, are a testament to her legal expertise. Asha has written op-eds for The New York Times The Wall Street Journal as well as The Washington Post among others and is presently a legal contributor to ABC News. She sits part of the editorial board of Just Security and a member of the Council of Foreign Relations.
