Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her real name Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. The first album she released on the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she started to gain fame. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music to the Internet in 2012 after she dropped her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. She continued to upload her songs online throughout 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as on Sweat It Out July 21st the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then was interested in having her create Rihanna references. The announcement that she would sign with Dreamville Records was made on the 8th of December. Backseat is a track that she recorded with Cozz in the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. On the 21st of October in 2016, her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was joined by EarthGang. In 2018 she went on to guest feature on two songs with her label-mates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The first single, Whipped Cream of the album came out in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a a music video. In November, she released two singles, forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. On the 13th of November, two brand new singles called No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this single as a way to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The song was followed by the music video which debuted that was released on February 20, 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views on YouTube within the first week. In support of the track She toured in concert with 6LACK in December of 2018 for The From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
